Plant Description

Life Cycle: Biennial
Family: Scrophulariaceae
Origin: Western Europe
Special Features: The first pure, snow-white flowering seed strain among foxgloves. Completely unblemished by any lavender to purple spots that are so common among other seed strains. Large flowering. Easy-to-germinate anytime of year and easy to finish-off in containers. In large containers, or in the garden, it is exciting to imagine bright accented drifts of six ore more plants.
Historical: The name Digitalis is derived from digitus, meaning 'finger' in Latin and refers to the shape of the flowers which, more accurately described, look like thimbles. The extract, digitalin, from this species is used to treat victims of heart disease. Introduced by JELITTO PERENNIAL SEEDS in 2002.
