Plant Description

Life Cycle: Perennial
Family: Gentianaceae
Origin: Central and Western United States, Central Canada: moist areas in the prairie.
Special Features: GENTIANA flavida is a vigorous plant that can grow at good locations up to 80cm long stems. The up to 5cm large white flowers are light green stripes, are in clusters in the leaf axils. Not drought tolerant, but with sufficient moisture a sunny location is possible. The bloom is usually 3 weeks before the high summer-flowering gentians.
