Special Features: Graceful and especially sturdy habit. Long-lived, tolerating a wide range of soils. A prairie species, an outstanding species for naturalizing in meadows. The species is also drawing bioenergy interest for its high cellulose content and ease of cultivation.
Historical: We are grateful to Cassian Schmidt, the Director of Sichtungsgarten Herrmanshof in Weinheim, Germany, who shared seed with us many years ago. Crosses with these produced very decorative deep green plants that resulted in 'Emerald Chief'. Introduced by JELITTO PERENNIAL SEEDS in 2011.

(8) These perennial seeds germinate very irregularly over a long period. Lower temperatures of less than +5°C [41°F] are very effective. Seed trays should not be discarded prematurely. Constant moisture must be maintained. Do not leave in direct sunlight. For Alstroemeria we recommend to keep sowing for 3 weeks at approximately +30°C [86°F], then 3 weeks at +5°C [41°F], then at +21°C [70°F].
