Special Features: Blue, spherical flower heads. Cut flower, also for dried bouquets. Drought tolerant.
Historical: Parkinson sang the praises of ECHINOPS in 1629 in Paradisi in Sole Paradisus Terrestris. John Evelyn later included a few species in Elysium Britannicum, a 17th century compendium of all good things to grow, under a listing for 'Flowering Plants for the Coronary Garden'.

(15) Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs.
