Special Features: Big Leaf Plantain with conspicuously fringed, reddish leaves. Firming upright flowers and seed pods. Large, vigorous plants. Decorative in the pot, but also groundcover use is conceivable. Moderate self-sowing in suitable locations. Salt tolerant.
Historical: The species is well known in traditional medicine.
