Origin: Manchuria, Northern Korea, Northern China: woodlands, along streams.
Special Features: ASTILBOIDES tabularis is an imposing ornamental foliage plant. With uniform moisture, the leaves of the panel sheet form an excellent background for smaller floriferous perennials in the foreground. Forms an underground rhizome, but not running.
Historical: First description in 1887, exellent results at plant evaluation 1986, but still unfortunately too rare in gardens.

Sowing Direction:

(15) Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs.
